I think the front porch is going to be the best room in the house, yet it's the last room to frame in. It was a little tricky, having to balance heavy post next to a 7 foot drop but I got it to work. I also added more of the rafter tail design as well as the tongue in groove ceiling. The deck is cedar. I just couldn't go plastic right of the bat. I am hoping the roof and large overhangs will help extend the wood life.
